DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY, EDITOR, VIDEO-MAKER
Welcome aboard
Here is what I do
Captain Parow is my alter-ego for freelance video-making. Need a story told, a video made, a concept ideated - I'm your man. Personal stories, corporate stories, commercials or just a simple interview, I have experience shooting, editing and creating just about anything you'd want to see on a screen.
Whether you need someone to take your project from concept to finish, or simply want some footage captured or edited, it's all in my wheel house. Need something bigger or more involved? I can draw on a considerable network of professionals and scale the production to meet your needs.
Look at some of my work below and please reach out with any questions. Whether you know exactly what you need or if you're still trying to figure things out, I am sure I can help you get it done.

Here's a little bit about me
Hi I'm Ulrich Brandt. A name not common in most of the English speaking world, hence the pseudonym. Why Captain Parow? Well, I'm originally from a town called Parow in South Africa. It was founded by its namesake, a Prussian ship's captain, whose vessel ran aground in the mid 1800's. Lost and destitute in a strange new country, he eventually married, settled down, and by all accounts lived out the remainder of his life, happy and contented.
I too, married and settled in a new country - albeit under much less dire circumstances. I come from a background in international shipping. I love to travel... a lot. And I love the sea. So why not.

About 10 years ago I relocated to Atlanta with my young family and soon after I made my first national TV commercial. Since then I have been lucky enough to work on various projects all across the country. Mainly I busy myself as a Director of Photography and/or Editor of video content for corporate and commercial clients, but I have worked on a great variety of projects. Large crews or one-man shows, tabletop, documentaries, commercials, live events, interviews, corporate messaging - you name it and I have probably done it.
